For students from grades 1 through 12
In schools

Tara Luz Danse invites students to dive into the company’s creative world for an absolutely unique movement experience. Students first observe a performance of excerpts from our repertoire. They are then invited to move with Artistic Director Anik Bouvrette and the company dancers to live music, exploring movement improvisation games that guide our artistic processes.

Step into the Studio usually takes place over the course of a full day in the host school. Excerpts of dances can be performed in front of the whole school in the morning, and workshops can be led in the afternoon with specific groups. We always work in collaboration with schools to plan the schedule and to adapt the workshops to the students’ particular needs.

Participant Testimonials

“My daughter who is in grade 4 really liked Tara Luz Danse’s dance workshop and performance excerpt. She was delighted when she came home from school and told me that all the students had had a lot of fun!” Parent, École élémentaire catholique La Source, Orléans, 2014.

“This initiation to contemporary dance – through both watching and participating – allowed the students to discover themselves and open themselves up to new realities. We had the opportunity to live a unique and enriching experience alongside professional artists who are passionate about dance.” Serge Gagné, cultural mediator, École secondaire catholique Cité des jeunes, Kapuskasing, 2015.
